The 6th Global Islamic Microfinance Forum

The 6th Global Islamic Microfinance Forum was organized by AlHuda Center of Islamic Banking and Economics in technical conjunction with Akhuwat in Nairobi, Kenya on 8 & 9 Nov, 2016.
The Conference was attended by more than 140 participants from 27 different countries. The 2 days of Forum were very interactive, covering 10 sessions on different areas of microfinance and development, delivered by more than 40+ globally renowned speakers/scholars.
The Akhuwat model was shared in the conference by Dr. Amjad Saqib, which was highly appreciated by the participants and they showed a keen interest in replicating the Akhuwat model. Mr. AbuBakar, Principal Coordinator Akhuwat also presented the Akhuwat’s Cloth Bank Model, Mr. Farid Junaid elaborated on the mechanics of Akhuwat microfinance and Syed Hussain Haider, Director Akhuwat Institute of Social Enterprise and Management elaborated on the “Spirit of Volunteerism”.
